Running Brook Elementary School Spanish Program
"Reaching the Best in Every Student"

¡Hola! Me llamo Señorita Rivera.
¡Saludos! My name is Xiomara Rivera and I am very excited to be at RBES. I was born in Puerto Rico. As I was a military brat I traveled much of my adolescence but I have spent over 10 years in Howard County. I am also a graduate the Howard County Public School System. I graduated Towson University with Bachelors in Mass Communications and I continued my education with a Master’s from Johns Hopkins University in Elementary Education with a certificate in Spanish. I taught for 3 years at Annapolis Middle School in their International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme teaching Spanish 1&2 and one year teaching Spanish 1 at Burleigh Manor Middle School. In addition, I have taught three years of Spanish in the BSAP Elementary Summer program at HCPSS.
During my free time I enjoy running, yoga, traveling, and playing traditional folk music from Puerto Rico, Bomba and Plena, with my family. I am looking forward to a very successful and exciting year at RBES.
I am available for additional help by appointment before school at 8:30 am.
Feel free to contact me at xiomara_rivera@hcpss.org
